NEW! Woodcarving Made Easy
No experience necessary. This session will provide you with a quick and simple way to an interesting hobby. Session project includes materials, on-site use of tools, and equipment.
$100 for a two-hour session. Gift Certificates Available!
1. Woodcarving for Beginners
No experience necessary. Courses include instruction in low-relief and simple 3-Dimensional carving. Skills developed may provide you with a lifelong hobby, gift-giving or extra income. The course includes 3 projects – All carving materials and on-site use of tools and equipment will be provided. Free membership to the Woodcarvers' Club available. $200 for 4 two-hour sessions. Gift Certificates Available!
2. High Relief and 3-D Carving*
Continuation of Woodcarving 1, further developing woodcarving skills and project design. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
3. Lettering and Sign Carving*
Learn sign making while carving a name plaque and house number for yourself. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
4. Tree Spirits and Walking Sticks*
Learn to whittle with a knife. Major emphasis on facial proportions. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
5. Recycled Carving*
Enjoy woodcarving by using recycled materials such as broomsticks, closet poles, shovel handles, tree branches, discarded furniture and wood scrap. By using imagination and developing skill, you can create beautiful woodcarvings. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
6. Mirror and Clock*
Design and carve a mirror and clock. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
7. Chip Carving*
Apply simplified chip carving designs to decorate wooden boxes, furniture and other wooden objects. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
8. Love Spoons and Decorative Bowls* - NEW
Learn to design and carve one-of-a-kind love spoons and decorative bowls. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
9. Woodcarving in Portraiture* - NEW
Learn to carve realistic likenesses in relief and 3-dimensions. Emphasis on facial proportions. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
10. Drawing and Patternmaking For Beginners - NEW
Beginner pencil drawing with emphasis on self-portrait, still life, and landscapes, as well as patternmaking for woodcarving designs.
Skills developed in this course will give you a life-long pleasure in drawing. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
11. Independent Woodcarving Projects - NEW
Carve whatever your heart desires using your own tools and materials. Must have prior woodcarving experience. $150 for 4 two-hour sessions.
* Prerequisite: Woodcarving for Beginners. Course requires a material and preparation charge of $50.
